The construction and preparation of the wood panels I build requires a series of methodical steps, from constructing the panels to preparing the surfaces. It takes time and patience. Building panels is for me, an essential part of the creative process. I use the time to take notes, draw and think about the direction of the work to come. The construction period is therefore an important step in the development of any given painting.
